- If you are in need of some great self care while also boosting your self confidence this experience is the one for you!! Leading up to the shoot I felt slightly nervous about what to wear, how I would look on camera, and my overall comfortability with taking pictures like this. I had never done a shoot like this before and leading up to the day I was hoping that what I was nervous about would vanish.
Not only did the things I was worried about vanish, I gained so much self confidence from doing this shoot.
Josh made sure that I felt 1000% comfortable with things like lighting, temperature, poses, music, and even called me a few days before to help with what outfits to wear. I felt that all areas were covered when it comes to truly making sure someone is happy, comfortable, and prepared for a setting/environment like this.
Josh continually let me know when I looked stunning and was a great hype man, while also helping me position myself better to capture great photos. Josh did a great job of incorporating ideas that I had for photos while also bringing his own style to the table. Anything I wanted to try Josh was down for which left room for lots of creativity!! I also was happy that Josh would show me what photos would look like after taking it. This gave me the confidence I needed within the moment that I did look great, even if I thought I wouldn’t based off a difficult pose or bright lighting.
After the shoot was done I left feeling so happy and confident. I remember calling up my friends telling them “we have to go out tonight, I look and feel way too good to just go back to my couch”. I believe that the reason I felt so confident was because of the constant care and attention I received within my shoot.
Within a week or two I was able to come back to see my photos and I was amazed by how well the photos turned out!! Josh goes through a ranking process to help with picking out the photos you want…I had fifty, 5 star photos that I just simply could not let go of. This proved to me that Josh has a great eye for these types of shoots and is truly talented in photography. The results of the shoot left me speechless at times and made me feel so confident within myself and the way I look.
Being a woman within the world, we are often faced with a lot of appearance expectations and can be shamed for not meeting these expectations. Josh does not focus on what the “norm” or the “trend” of how a woman should look but instead caters to you as an individual. He heightens all the qualities you love about yourself and never makes you feel that you have to fit a certain look/image. Josh had expressed that he loves capturing all the different qualities and looks of a woman and you can see this within his work.
I really had so much fun during this shoot and it really was a great form of self care. I’m excited to receive my photos and will 100% be back for more.

- When I turned 30, I knew I wanted to do a boudoir photoshoot for my 40th birthday. So, about 7 months before my 40th birthday, I started googling photographers and found 3 or 4 photographers in the capital region that "claim" to do this specific style of photography. Although, Boudoir by Kendall didn't come up at the top of my search, I knew as soon as I viewed the website, I wanted to use Josh. Not only did he have a five star rating, he was the ONLY photographer who had women of color on his website (being a black woman, this was extremely important to me). Then reading through his page and realizing that "Kendall" was not a woman, but instead a last name for the man whose stunning photography this was, I was still sold because of the amount of information he provides UPFRONT right on his website. I felt like knowing upfront what to expect -from the packaged prices and everything included to why and how he got started in this specific style of photography- was so beneficial for me, as well as helped me plan and prepare effectively.
Josh was so communicative and informative leading up to the shoot, answering questions I didn't even know I would have or didn't know to ask. He was always responsive, timely, professional and clear in setting proper expectations that there were literally ZERO surprises, except for how beautiful each and every picture turned out! It was the hardest 26 decisions I've ever had to make at one time, but flaws and all, I believe I will look back on these photos and see the beautiful parts of myself that I oftentimes find very difficult to see (right now). I went into this shoot with deep insecurities about my body, and thinking I would only be comfortable showing certain parts of myself, but I was more comfortable and confident than I have ever been on that day, and was open to much more than I imagined. And to be honest, it was liberating! I don't regret any part.
The experience and the investment are well worth your consideration (the best experience I have ever invested in for myself)! I would recommend any woman thinking about doing a boudoir photoshoot to BOOK WITH JOSH!! You will not be sorry. - This was my first ever photoshoot. I felt pretty nervous because I did not know what to expect from a boudoir shoot. Josh took his time to call me the day before my shoot to go over outfits and get to know each other a little bit before the shoot as well.
Josh is very professional, but also is able to crack some jokes which made me feel very comfortable. He was patient and taught me how to pose, and eventually I got the hang of it and I was able to have an amazing time.
I looked like an absolute model, like the cover of vogue and I was more than happy with my photos. I 1000% will recommend Josh to anyone who is looking to have a photoshoot done, no matter the occasion. - Going into this shoot I was very nervous, and my heart was racing when my hair and makeup were getting done. Once my hair and makeup was done though, I looked in the mirror and fell in love with how I looked. By the end of the shoot, I was super confident with posing and you could tell by my facial expressions how comfortable I looked in the photos! This kind of photo shoot was definitely out of my comfort zone, but Josh helped ease my nerves and made me feel beautiful in every photo! Going into something like this can be nerve racking, but Josh's warm and welcoming personality really helps ease those nerves. From the time you book your appointment, until the very end of the shoot, Josh makes sure you have all the information you need to get the best experience. When the day came for my shoot, I was definitely nervous and still couldn't believe I was doing it. Sitting and getting my hair and makeup done while chatting with Josh and Vicky (his hair and makeup artist) helped ease the nerves a lot. Seeing how incredible my hair and makeup looked for the photos after that also helped make me feel more confident going into the first photo.
Josh will guide you through every single pose. He keeps things fun. It was hard to not have a smile on my face for a lot of the shoot. Between the dad jokes, the music playing in the background, and Josh's personality, you really cant have a bad time. He really pays attention to detail. He makes sure you feel comfortable through the whole experience. His work is absolutely jaw dropping. Seeing the photos of myself on a big screen had me in shock. He makes it very difficult to narrow the photos down because of how fantastic his shots are. The way he captures you through his lens really will boost your confidence. I was so sure that I wasn't going to like some of these photos, and I was so wrong. Seeing these photos really helped me see the beauty that I was blind to.

- Leading up to the actual shoot I had some nervousness around it due to having a boudoir shoot done with a completely different photographer and was not happy with the outcome at all. That being said, doing this shoot with Josh was a complete 180. His emails leading up to the shoot were extremely helpful and informative. The photo shoot itself, there was a little awkwardness in the very very beginning but toward the end it was like working with a friend. Josh did everything to ensure you were completely comfortable throughout it all. When it came to looking at all of the pictures at the reveal I swore it was like seeing a different person in a great way. - I was a little apprehensive prior to doing this shoot, but almost immediately I was put at ease! Josh is such a funny easy going guy and immediately sent me any information I had questions about! - Coming into a shoot like this, I had an insane amount of anxiety because of all my stretch marks and extra curves. But before I had even walked into the studio, I felt more than prepared! From the emails, outfit guides and even a FaceTime session a couple days prior. Josh went out of his way to not only make me feel comfortable but safe as well. It truly exceeded all of my expectations. From someone who almost chickened out of this, I promise you won’t regret booking with him.

- Josh is an amazing photographer and such a fun person to work with! I wanted to do a boudoir shoot just for some self love. Of course being a woman you’re going to be nervous of a man taking naked or almost naked pictures of you lol but Josh made me feel safe and comfortable. He won’t make you do anything you don’t want to and asks what you’re comfortable with before hand and even video calls you before the shoot to make sure you are comfortable. He even will send very helpful emails about outfit recommendations and the best times to shave or spray tan so you will look your best and some tips and tricks so you don’t have a double chin or look bloated while shooting, because I know i definitely worry about that while taking pictures lol. He also offers hair and makeup from a different artist if you are not good at doing that on your own. During the shoot he makes sure that you’re comfortable and will play your favorite music to help you feel confident. He also cracks some jokes which are really funny. He makes sure the whole time he is taking pictures that you are comfortable and look your best. And when he shows you the pictures at your viewing i promise you that you will be amazed and see yourself in ways you never have before. It will be difficult to pick just a few pictures because he definitely makes sure to capture all of your beauty. I would recommend booking with him to anyone. Any size and age (at least of age of course lol). I would honestly fly out of state just to get pictures taken by him because he’s that good.

- I’ve never done photos like this before as I’ve always been very self conscience of my body and my face in photographs and wanted to step outside of my comfort zone and hopefully see myself in a different light. When he reached out he was very sweet and inviting, immediately called me to discuss the details and sent several emails including pricing/policies, style guides, and helpful tips! In the few days leading up to the session Josh scheduled us for a FaceTime to allow more face to face interaction beforehand and go over my outfit choices which I really liked because it helped ease the stranger aspect meeting him. During the shoot he remained very professional and respectful, played music of my choice to ease awkward silences and told a ton of “dad jokes” (which I loved lol). He made it very easy to get comfortable quickly in what would typically be a very uncomfortable situation for me. After the shoot I left starting to doubt myself again waiting for the reveal and assumed I’d just choose 5 pictures I liked and call it a day. Today during the reveal I realized I was wrong! He did an AMAZING job capturing aspects of my personality with a lot of laughter and made even the sexier pictures look so timeless and classy! I’ve never loved my smile or my body in photos until today and will forever be grateful for him capturing them so beautifully. I 110% recommend everyone to get a boudoir session done with Josh!

- I am very big on self-care and when I read about what a boudoir session was about, I wanted to be able to experience that for myself. I started following Boudoir by Kendall on Instagram after I saw a friend from high school had done a session. I was following his account for a while when I signed up to do a model shoot Josh had posted about. When Josh reached out to me, he sounded super easy going and professional which made me feel comfortable. Josh did a great job explaining every single piece and part leading up to my session. He sent a few emails with guides and tips for outfits, shaving/waxing, tanning, mani/pedi, and reminders on how important it is to hydrate, stretch, and eat breakfast the day of the shoot. Those emails were super helpful for me in preparing for a photo shoot like this one. Josh is also very open and was always available for any questions I had. The scheduled facetime call was another aspect that helped break the ice and was a time where you get to preview the outfits and go over what to expect which helps ease the nerves the night before. I was very excited to do my photo shoot.
Arriving at my session I was not nervous because I had a friend tag along and Josh was very welcoming, friendly, and professional. At the start of the session Josh plays your choice of music which for me was a big hype. It made the session fun, and I didn’t have to worry about awkward silence. Between the music, Josh’s dad jokes, and having my friend there, the energy of the shoot was uplifting, encouraging, and fun. I felt sexy, confident, and comfortable throughout the session. Having my friend there with me made it extra fun. She would help fix my hair, outfit changes, and do all the things that a friend does to make you feel and look good for a picture. The moral support is great!
After the shoot I was very happy that I treated myself to this experience. The experience is one of a kind. Having the whole day dedicated to you is a special feeling. I felt like Beyonce and her song “Girls run the world.” To wrap things up, the photo reveal. It was magical. It felt like I was reliving my photo shoot through the pictures. It is amazing how talented Josh is and how he was able to capture sexy, timeless, and elegant photos of me that showcase my personality. I know most people say this, but I will say it too, I highly recommend doing a boudoir session with Josh! It is one of the best “treat yourself” type of things you can do.

- The experience, the results, and Josh were absolutely fantastic! Leading up to the shoot I was feeling nervous but mostly excited. I love my body and my curves, but like everyone else, I have my insecurities. And then to be almost naked posing in front of a man, I thought it was going to be a challenge for me. - Leading up to this process was a little bit overwhelming, to think of all the pictures that you see on the Internet and what you want and expect to look like coming out of a photo shoot like this. And from start to finish Josh made it so relieving to be able to see myself in my own skin the way I looked at the pictures on the Internet. He was constantly reaching out to see if I had any questions or concerns. Any ideas that I wanted him to continue running off with.
When I got there, it was like go time, but all the fears I had were immediately gone because I felt so comfortable in the environment. The makeup and hair was done professionally and actually in a timely manner… and after the hair and make up was done he got right into it and he helped with suggestions.
He gave me ideas on which outfits we should go first and the whole process was so smooth and so relaxing that it just seemed so natural to get into the mood of the photo shoot.
There was not one time I felt uncomfortable, asking his help with any piece of lingerie that I had. When it was over, he gave me step-by-step on when he’ll be reaching out of how he’ll be reaching out of when we can review the pictures and then when he made time for me with my busy schedule, I got to see the pictures and in these words just don’t do it justice. He really made an insecure woman feel absolutely beautiful and so secure in her own skin with just a photo, and the entire process. If there was ever a time that you wanted to do something risky like a boudoir photo shoot and you’re not sure …Josh is absolutely a great starting point on your journey to loving yourself through the camera.

- I was nervous prior to the shoot but once I got there Josh made me feel comfortable right away. He sent very detailed emails leading up to the shoot and was so helpful in answering any questions I had. He even FaceTimed me a couple days prior so that we could get to know each other alittle bit. - I LOVED my boudoir sessions with Josh. Everything was well organized and put together. I enjoyed our first phone call we had, I feel that really broke the ice. Before you shoot, Josh will send out emails that are well detailed. I found those very helpful. They have information about what to do leading up to your shoot. (Shaving, tanning, nails ex). Josh also leaves an open communication just in case you have questions pop up. He will send you a video that has some amazing stretches. I HIGHLY recommend you do the stretches day before & day of your shoot. I enjoyed showing Josh the outfits I had thought I’d like for the shoot. He really explained how different outfits will make you look. The day of my shoot I kept my breakfast simple and made sure to hydrate. Once I got to my shoot I met Josh and he showed me some albums and we chatting till it was hair and makeup time. Josh made sure to play music I was interested in and keep the small talk, dad jokes and laughter at a nice flow. Once I was done with my hair and makeup I sipped on my mimosa and went with the flow. Once I saw all my photos after my shoot in my reveal, I was shocked and in Awe. Josh caught all the things I loved about myself and also opened my eyes up to more beauty I have that I didn’t see. - The whole experience was amazing! Meeting, talking and shooting with Josh was fun and comfortable. I decided to do a boudoir shoot just for fun and I’m glad I did, the ending photos were amazing. I’m a pretty confident person all around but when I left my reveal session, you couldn’t tell me anything! - I recently did a shoot with Josh and it was one of the most fun experiences. I’ve never felt so confident after seeing the images he took (so hard to narrow it down). Leading up the shoot Josh would send emails with helpful tips that I would have never thought of. The day of the shoot I got both my hair and make up done while I got to sip on a mimosa and the confidence started to rise instantly. Today I was able to see the final results. - This was my first time trying a boudoir shoot and when I told my friends about it they were shocked I was going to have a male do it VS a female. I will admit I was nervous at first but even just after the first phone call with Josh I felt good about it. He was VERY professional and you can tell he is doing this to EMPOWER women. I let him know ahead of time (because it was asked in the survey sent prior to our shoot) what my insecurities were in regards to my body. So during the shoot he was sure to pose me in a way to help make those areas look better/more flattering. I’m 5’7 230lbs for reference, so I have “problem areas”.
He kept in touch with me often and even did a FaceTime the day before so it wasn’t awkward meeting for the first time face to face that day. I felt so good about myself during the shoot, and even was served 2 mimosas to help ease any nerves. Josh’s home is very neat, clean, and he sets it up perfectly for the shots. It is important to do the exercises before hand because you will be on your tippy toes a lot. But trust me! He knows what he’s doing. You may feel like, “this is a weird pose how will it look good” …. Just wait until you see how amazing they come out!
It was so cool to finally see all of the photos on the reveal day! He set them up in a beautiful slide show and we rated them 1-5 to help decide which ones to choose. That’s the hardest part! They were all so good!! About 60 photos of myself looking like a sexy empowered beautiful woman. It really made me feel amazing through the whole experience. I highly recommend using Josh if you are considering doing a boudoir shoot!! And I highly recommend doing a shoot in general if you’ve never done it before, I definitely feel more confident!

- I did this shoot with Josh as a winner of a giveaway, and it was such a good experience! I was very nervous leading up to the shoot just because I had never had professional photos taken of myself, let alone boudoir photos, but I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised. I had my hair and make up done there before the shoot, and right off the bat Josh and his makeup artist did their best to make me as comfortable as possible. Once we began shooting, it definitely took me a second to get comfy behind the camera, but Josh was great at easing my nerves, and it didn't take long to start gaining some confidence. - I booked a boudoir session with Josh after I saw a friend post some of her photos from a shoot that she had with him. The photos were so beautiful, I was compelled to call! I felt a little nervous, but even during our initial conversation, Josh was very friendly and easy to talk to and he made me feel at ease. In the weeks leading up to the photoshoot, Josh sent me emails with directions on what I needed to do to prepare. These were very helpful and included things that I may not have thought of… I could see how much effort he puts into making the day perfect.. - I had an incredible time shooting! From first getting there I instantly felt comfortable and got a great pampering! The makeup artist was very quick and efficient with application and styling! Between the mimosas, great conversations and how empowered I felt during the shoot, it’s hard to choose which I enjoyed most.

- Coming into the experience I knew very little about this more intimate form of photography. Now I can say with confidence that I not only know more about boudoir but about myself as well. As I’ve said I’m a relatively shy and anxious person so I wasn’t sure how my experience would go but I completely surprised myself by the end of the shoot. - It feels important to note that (in general) I am a very anxious person when doing even the most mundane tasks so even thinking about doing something like this made my palms sweaty and heart race. This whole experience was absolutely worth the (maybe) 5 seconds of stress I felt about it.
Leading up to the shoot, Josh was very communicative - he sent multiple guides and pieces of advice, we had a phone call AND a video chat where he assured me that I was on the right track. My stomach was in knots the day of the shoot, but Josh and his wonderful makeup artist were so welcoming I already felt like I'd known them for years. Something that stood out to me as a great trick to get me out of my head was that he let me choose the music (a very big part of my comfort zone). Throught the shoot he was knowledgeable, patient, and professional, showing me examples, talking through his thought process, and making me laugh (another big part of my comfort zone).
After I left, I was certain we'd gotten a handful of good shots. Coming back for the reveal showed me just how much I'd underestimated what Josh could capture - all of the shots were good shots. I barely recognized the confident, sassy version of myself he'd caught (like my inner monologue was on display) - a few times I even laughed at how unexpectedly gorgeous a photo turned out.
Tl;Dr book the shoot. Even if you dislike photos of yourself, you will uncover an entirely new person through Josh's lens!

- I was nervous about getting my pictures done but the e-mails he sent me before the shoot helped me prepare so much! The detail on what to do before the shoot, things I never even thought of helped me! I felt so relaxed as soon as I walked into the shoot. My makeup/ hair professional was not only talented, but also made me feel super confident and comfortable. Josh was incredibly professional, and I had so much fun during my shoot! I left knowing I had just taken some of the most beautiful pictures I have ever taken. When I reviewed them with him to say I was blown away is an understatement.

- As we were leading up to the shoot I was crazy nervous because I’m shy and plus size and very self conscious about my body. As soon as I showed up he made me feel welcomed and I felt like I’ve known him for awhile.
As we were getting ready I was soo excited and nervous because I’ve never done something like this before.
During the shoot I was worried that my curves would look bad in the photos because I was always told the camera puts 20+ pounds in you. My best friend was with me and it made it easier to feel more comfortable with being in lingerie in a stranger’s house. After the shoot I felt great and excited to see what the photos looked like and I was also very sore the next day so definitely take Josh’s advice and stretch before.
After seeing the photos I felt so confident and couldn’t believe that that was me and that I looked like that. A boudoir photoshoot with Josh could really improve the way you feel and see yourself. He brings out the inner sexy that every women has inside of them. 10/10 definitely would recommend.

- When I arrived to the boudoir shoot I was a little nervous about it because I am a plus size and I am insecure about my stomach. Josh made me feel so comfortable and kept me laughing the entire time. His dad jokes are great. He made the experience so comfortable! - When I decided to do the shoot, I had wanted to give myself a little bit of a confidence boost but something like this is so out of my comfort zone! On my way, I was super nervous about looking awkward or it being strange being in lingerie in front of a stranger. Josh made everything super welcoming and comfortable from the very beginning. - Going into a shoot like this is nerve wracking, but Josh makes you comfortable start to finish. He has so many tips up front and goes above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable. I’m not sure where to even begin. As I’m sure everyone is (at least to some degree), I was SUPER nervous about the shoot.
I think it’s important to directly address this: I know some may be unsure about booking a shoot because the photographer (Joshua) is a man. Just trust me: book the shoot. Don’t think you’ll be treated with ANY less respect or professionalism than you could ever hope to be. Boudoir is particularly vulnerable, and Joshua fully and completely understands this. He's incredibly welcoming, professional and does his best to ensure that you know just how much he values you and your willingness to be the subject of his work. He goes above and beyond to create an incredibly safe space. I can’t stress that enough.
I’d recommend a boudoir shoot with Joshua to anyone and everyone (at any age, weight, with any body shape, with any “flaws,” etc.) who wants to challenge themselves to get out of their comfort zone and see themselves in a new light. While I’ve always felt as though I never fit into the traditional “standards of beauty” (and consequently wasn’t exactly “beautiful”), I felt like I was creating and celebrating my own definition of beauty for myself as my own person with my own unique body. It’s one of the best forms of self-care I’ve done in my entire life. It was (and is) an amazing feeling that can’t be taken away from me now - I have physical proof!! I’m so thankful Joshua helped me get a constant, tangible reminder of my unique form of beauty with the photographs he took.
I could tell from beginning to end that he's incredibly passionate and excited about his work as a boudoir photographer. He's creative, artistic, engaged, and he's interested in your own thoughts, preferences and ideas. He's excited to work with the wonderful things you bring to the table. It was honestly a privilege to work with him, and I hope I'll be able to do so again in the future.

- Leading up to the shoot, I was nervous because I have never done anything like this and I felt hesitant to be almost nude in front of a male photographer. I got to the shoot and within minutes I felt 100% comfortable even in the most revealing outfits! - My experience with Josh was absolutely AMAZING. I was a little nervous before going thinking what if I don't look good, what if my body is unflattering, will this make me more self conscious? Once I got there Josh made me feel so comfortable he was personable and funny which helped my nerves. His hair and makeup artist was so sweet and I let her decide how my makeup should look and it came out amazing as well and it was great to be able to come and be all dolled up with no stress. During the shoot he continuously reassured me how great the pictures were coming out and at one point he turned the camera around and I immediately said WOW who knew I was capable of looking like that! After my session ended I was so excited I couldn't wait to see how the rest turned out. When I went to my reveal session I was almost in disbelief how flattering and amazing the pictures came out. There was even a picture that he pointed out to me and said I know you can see your stretch marks on your stomach and I want you to know I left them because they are beautiful and it shows the journey and that you grew two beautiful children! This picture ended up being one of my favorite pictures and honestly his comment made me feel so empowered.
I would recommend Josh without a hesitation. I am so happy I went through with this booking and did this for myself and to see how beautiful my body truly is.

- At first I felt extremely nervous with no modeling experience whatsoever. The day of the photo shoot I walked in thinking it would be awkward but it wasn’t! Josh was so kind and SO professional! I brought a bunch of variety of lingerie and we looked through and I wore my favorite ones first. Josh had told me how to pose, breathe, how to direct my eyes and by the end of the photo shoot I felt like I was a professional model. All the nerves I had disappeared and I had SO MUCH FUN! My confidence was at a low for me, and this boudoir session is exactly what I needed!
